A birthday or family party is an afternoon of laughter, cake and reunions. The best memory is often the one you did not have time to photograph, because you were not in the right place at the right time. A photographer lets you enjoy the party while still keeping beautiful images.
Tell the photographer how the party is organised
Give the photographer the programme: arrival of guests, games, speeches, cake, group photo. Also mention the moments not to miss: blowing out the candles, the surprise, the presents.
Photograph the preparations and the details
The buffet, the decoration, the cake: these images tell the story of the atmosphere and the care put into the party. Have them photographed before all the guests arrive, while everything is still in place.
Spontaneous images
The best party photos are the ones where nobody poses: children running, grandparents laughing, cousins catching up. Let it happen, the photographer adapts.
Plan a family portrait
Even if the party is cheerful and chaotic, choose a moment to bring the whole family together. A few minutes are enough, preferably before the meal, when everyone is still fresh and in a good mood.
